SCA Summer 2026 Retreat
SCA New York invites you to register for our Summer Retreat in Ivoryton, Conn., from Friday, September 11 through Sunday, September 13.

A retreat offers a special period of time for connection, community, silence, rest, simplicity, and contemplation. It can be both a “time out” from life’s daily stresses and an opportunity to deepen one’s experience of self and strengthen our connection to the SCA program. There is also time for fellowship and play — an opportunity to relax, laugh, and enjoy one another’s company.
The weekend will include workshops on Step 10, Step 11, and "Living in the Solution," SCA meetings, creativity, fellowship, nourishing meals and snacks, nature walks, games, and more.
This is a closed event for members of SCA only. Space is limited, and the retreat fills quickly, so advanced registration is required.
If you are considering doing service as a workshop leader, please register as early as possible, so assignments can be made with sufficient time for preparation.

Getting there on Friday, September 11: You can provide your own transportation or ride up with a group from Grand Central on Metro North (it's the New Haven stop on the New Haven line – round-trip, off-peak fare is $26.00-$38.50). Take the 3:03pm train to New Haven. From there, a yellow school bus will take us to woodsy Ivoryton, Conn., about 30 minutes beyond New Haven. The retreat begins on Friday evening at approximately 6:00pm with dinner.

Getting home on Sunday, Sunday 13: The retreat ends on Sunday afternoon with a Quaker-style gratitude meeting. Our bus will return us to New Haven in time for the 4:39pm Metro-North train back to Grand Central. (Arrives 6:47 pm)

Accommodations: We’ll have three meals a day, snacks, tea, and coffee. Vegetarian options are available at every meal. Please feel free to bring any special dietary items and snacks. Refrigeration is available for our use.
Everyone has their own private room. Most have shared bathrooms, with private stalls for showers and toilets.

Please consider donating to the scholarship fund: To the extent possible, the Retreat Committee offers partial scholarships to those who request them. These scholarships are made possible thanks to the generous donations from SCA New York fellows who can afford to help others. Click here to make a donation, or you can donate when you register.

Cancellation policy: If you must cancel, you will get a full refund minus the online transaction fee (up to $10) if you notify us by September 3. After September 3, refunds are not possible.
